Reviews of The Waterford at Baytown
6 Alzheimer's caregiver tips & resources make life easier & reduce stress. Visited this lovely, open, clean residence, as a possible new home for my dad. We were impressed with the knowledge and time offered by nurse and exec.
I visited The Waterford at Baytown and it was very nice. I was only there for a few hours with the tour. There were a lot more staff members there, and there seemed to be more interaction with the patients. They had rooms where they could share a room, which my mom didn't want.

The Waterford at Baytown has a lot of activities and their activity calendar was pretty full. I was pleased with the programs they set up for the residents. The facility was just reopened, so it's brand new. There wasn't anything not to like. I liked everything they offered. The Waterford at Baytown was very nice and more upscale than the other places.
You would expect so much better care for the money, but that is not the case. Medications are not well accounted for and leaves you wondering what else they don't pay attention to. I give them one star for having the cost of cable included in their inflated pricing for minimal care. There billing and accounting are something that requires close attention. They can't seem to get that right either.
Paying for care
Staff took amazing care of them after they passed away I moved in because I knew how great the care staff was. I love the movie theater and bring my movies up to enjoy every day. They could have been more clean, had more things to do in the home for the residents, and the nurses could have a little more patience. The people at the front desk were always helpful and very nice.

Nobody was unfriendly at all and they're pretty helpful. They had a lot more activities there and a lot of outings. They had a chapel and common areas for them to play games.
They're encouraging participation in events, and she does. It's very clean, and it does not have a hospital or retirement-home smell. I've been in several others that don't really smell great.
But this is more expensive than the one we visited. They sat down with us and ran down everything. I like the way they were able to fix up the rooms on the outside of the door. There are rocking chairs on the big space outside the apartment door, so the residents can actually stay there if they want to.
I would recommend any of the places I toured they were all very good. The staff were all extremely friendly, and patient. Remington Park is a good facility.
It was a really large shower that you could even get a wheelchair on it if you needed to. It had a bedroom that could accommodate a queen-size bed. It had a dresser and a closet that was built in. You can get a view of the courtyard, which I think my mom would really like. The receptionist was really friendly, and she's been there for a while. The facility is very lovely to look at.
There are a lot of staff members changing shifts. Some details get forgotten from staff member to staff member. My mother lived at this community for 3 years. The staff has always been in communication with any care changes. Even after my mother passed, the staff continues to reach out and check on me.
